Our History

St. Paul’s Center of New York was founded in 2003 by Jeannemarie G. Baker, MS, NP-P, a graduate of Columbia University’s School of Nursing. The Center has been located in mid-town Manhattan since that time.

With the Center’s mission in mind, the clinical staff and leadership have established multiple working alliances and partnerships with community organizations serving homeless and at-risk persons. In its years of operation the Center has also participated in professional and social advocacy.

Additionally, from its foundation, the Center has had a working relationship with Columbia University’s School of Nursing. The Center has a history of training graduate psychiatric nurse practitioner students and, indeed, many current and past Center clinicians are graduates of this notable program.

Private contributions and foundation grants help sustain the Center’s work.
